Teacher Council, Parent Council, and Student Council

Teacher Council, Parent Council, and Student Council

Every Esprit school has a participation council. In addition, Esprit Schools has two joint participation councils (GMR): one for primary education (PO) and one for secondary education (VO).

The Esprit Schools participation statute describes the structure of participation, information provision, and facilities.

Participation Statute

The Executive Board is the discussion partner for the GMR-PO and GMR-VO. The participation regulations describe, among other things, the size and composition of the GMR, elections, and the tasks and powers of the GMR.

Participation council (MR) Berlage Lyceum

At Berlage Lyceum, we believe that student and parent involvement and collaboration are incredibly important. That's why we have an active participation council (MR), where students, parents, and staff members collaborate and make decisions about our school's policies. The MR consists of 12 engaged members: three students, three parents, and six staff members. Students and parents are elected for a two-year term, while staff members serve a four-year term to ensure continuity.

The MR meets with the management approximately every six weeks. These meetings are open to the public, and anyone interested is welcome to attend. We kindly request that you register in advance. In the MR, we discuss various important topics, such as education policy, finances, human resources, and all matters concerning parents and students.

Joint Participation Council (GMR)

Furthermore, policies established at the central level within Esprit Schools are discussed in the Joint Participation Council (GMR). Berlage Lyceum is represented there by one student, one parent, and two staff members.

Do you have questions or something you'd like to bring to the attention of the MR? Send us an email at mr@berlagelyceum.eu – we'd love to hear from you!

Parent Council

The Berlage Lyceum has an active parent council in which parents of students from all departments of the school are represented.

Student Council

The student council is the point of contact for ideas, complaints, and all matters you'd like to tell the school board. We are here to help you with anything at all. We organize school parties and activities on special days, such as the rose sale on Valentine's Day.
